If you are currently offering a price discount in your ads, test it against a premium. And vice versa. As a general rule of thumb,
consumers respond better to a discount and business people to a premium.
But that doesn't always hold true.
- Generally speaking, smaller ads (1/6th page or less) produce sales leads at less cost than the larger ads. But, obviously,
not as many.
- If you're on a limited test budget, you can use small space ads to test different positions within a publication to determine
where it would be most profitable to run your full pager. You can also use small space ads to test copy appeals, seasonality,
and the responsiveness of different publications.
