Temporary Workers ...
Hiring temporary workers from agencies is often cheaper than permanents because:
- you don’t pay for unproductive time, which can be 20-40% with full time workers,
- there is no time lost through absenteeism,
- you don’t have to spend large amounts of time advertising for and interviewing staff,
- you don’t have to pay for fringe benefits (this can mean dramatic savings in areas where big fringe benefits are usual), and
- you don’t have the lower productivity that’s usual when existing staff do overtime.
Just one thing, my own experience suggests that if you get a bad temporary from an agency, others from that agency will also be bad. So don’t go back to that agency. Look for another which sends you top rate people.
